ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a Finnish-born artist living in the heart of Zurich's beautiful old city.
My paintings emerge from deep emotion, built layer by layer, each one reflecting my state of mind at that moment. The materials, colours, and shapes I select vary with my mood, making each piece a unique expression of the time and place in which it was created.
My process is a delicate balance between intuition and analysis, a dance of letting go and taking control. Each painting evolves through this dynamic, resulting in works that are meaningful and deeply personal.
Though I live in Switzerland, my connection to Finland remains a vital part of who I am as an artist. The love of silence and solitude, so inherent in Finnish culture, often finds its way into my work. It’s as if my homeland is embedded in my creative DNA.
